Monetizing Your Website So you want to make money online. If you remember the late 90’s, it seemed like it was easy to make a lot of money on the world wide web. Things have changed quite a bit now. The internet has gotten a lot more crowded with relevant and irrelevant websites. There are over a billion web pages now, and you can find anything you want online. Charging website visitors for your services isn’t always an option anymore since there is a lot of competition out there. Website owners have been relying more and more on advertising revenue to help their bottom line.
There are two main types of advertising you can use: in house management and third party management. InHouse: This is where other businesses buy space directly from you. Your website will usually have an interface for advertisers to signup on. This is only recommended if you have a lot of traffic, the ability to program your website to handle this, and you have the time to manage this. Third Party: This is where you have an account with another company and they give you a string of coding to insert in your website. They handle all the advertising relationships. The coding that you put in your website will have ads automatically show up. Some of these companies, such as Google Adsense, will show ads that are relevant to the content on your website. They will usually pay you per click that is made on the ads, and then will usually pay you monthly. This is the preferred method of most website owners since it’s the most simple to setup and doesn’t require much management. Revenue can be pretty decent, but it completely depends on your traffic and how well you integrate it into your site. If you are interested in making money from your website with the Google Adsense service, click the green image at the very bottom of this website to create your account.
