Default Shipping

Okay so shipping i have come to realize that no matter where you ship the package in the USA the shipping will be the same amount...So then I was looking at the info when I was setting up my shopping cart and I saw where it said "Use my shipping calculations set up in my profile" and :use my sales tax calulations set up in my profile" or "use a flate rate amount for both of those...can't i just set the flate rate amound since I know how much the shipping would be!!! and do I have to do sales tax since I live in oregon and we don't have sales tax?? "

Sales tax only applies to sales made within the state you are located in, if there is a sales tax there. So in your case you don't need to worry about it at all.

If you want to just use a flat rate for the shipping, you can. Its your choice. What do your competitors do? Are your shipping charges similar to theirs?

MY shipping charges are what it says it will cost to ship the item at that weight, but....it still when i put in my zip code will not tell me how much the shipping is, paypal says you have to enter the credit card information and continue from there. My second question is, say the shipping for 1/4lb is 2.26 and then they buy another bag thats 1lb and the shipping is 5.60 it should auto add the shipping it right?

I dont know what to do as far as paypal they says that the shipping works but it cant see that it does and it wants me to enter a credit card which i dont have one and i am afraid that it will charge me...

The best way to figure out if a system works or not, is have someone test it. Have a couple different people on different computers buy some stuff. Through paypal you can always cancel transactions and refund money. That way you can get some feedback from people about the entire process; and find out if it actually works or not.

Try to set up a couple tests that are possible real world situations. Have someone buy just one item; another buy a few, and another buy a lot.

This will be good for you for a couple reasons. One, you will get some feed back about the buying process and see if it works or not. Two, you will get some experience getting to know how paypal works when recieving transactions.

Just reverse the transaction within your paypal admin area before it pulls the money out of your account. In other words, do it the same day.
