Making a Quick Buck....Good or Bad? First of all, I don't think there is anything wrong with making money. No matter how much or little you make and how fast or slow you make it; the only things that CAN BE wrong about the subject of money is how you make it and what you do with it.
This blog is a result of the recent PS3 craze. If you don't know already, there were thousands of people lined up for days infront of stores so they could be one of the first people to buy this game console when it was released on friday the 17th. The majority of these people weren't camping out for days so they could get the PS3 for themself or give as a gift; they were trying to get it so they could then resell the item to people who are willing to pay $3000 or more for it. The formula is simple, camp out for a couple days, make a couple thousand profit; personally, I don't find anything wrong with that.
So what's the point of this blog? The point is to bring peoples attention to how the idea of making a couple grand in a matter of days can change how a person acts. As you might of seen on the news there were numerous stores across the US that had to have the police come in and break up fights and other unacceptable behavior. Why were people acting like this? I don't know what was going through their minds, only God and themself know that. But I think I can make a pretty good guess. A lot of people get caught up in making a quick buck and when its legit, they will often sacrifice their own dignity, how they treat their friends, and their attitude toward strangers. I can see how a couple thousand dollars in a couple days is a decent amount of money to most people, but in reality it's only money. Aren't there more important things in life?
To some people the almighty dollar might be what is most important in their life. Whether that is right or wrong is a matter of opinion. Pesonally, I think that a persons dignity, their relationships with friends and family, and a loving attitude toward people you don't even know; is more important than any amount of money. What are your thoughts?
I could go on and on about the subject of money, but that will have to be another day. |
