Default Homestead

So my co-worker is going to use homestead to sell her crafts. She is going to go with the $4.99 package. I am going to go with the 20.00 package. She brought up a good point. How does your website get out there for people to find on places like yahoo & google? Does homestead automaticly do that for you. Or if not how do you do it?]

Homestead won't do any advertising for you unless you are using the $49.99/month package.

There is a website called iSubmit that will submit your website to over 300 search engines every month. It charges $50/month BUT the first month is free. So you can use it for one month and just cancel before the first month is up so you don't get charged. I wouldn't suggest this until your website is completely finished with keywords and everything.

Another way search engines find you is through links on other sites. This will cause the search engine to be aware of your site and will put it inline to crawl.

So you are saying there is no other way to do it other than to pay a huge amount of money. Is there anywhere cheaper that you can do it? can i start with the $20.00 package on homestead and upgrade to the 50.00 package later? I mean i really want to advertise for my busiess but right now and i can image for a while $50.00 a month will be a lot

there is always a way to do something. Like I also said, you can put links on other sites. Put your links on craigslist, myspace, and anywhere else that you might find customers.

I think you might be thinking that this is easier than it really is. Its going to take a while for the search engines to crawl your website and index it in search results. So when you are starting out, I wouldn't rely on people coming from search engines. This is another reason why you put links on other sites, so you can get traffic.

And yes, you can always upgrade your package with homestead.

have a good seo to set up your sitemap, then submit your pages and sitemap to many search engine, such as yahoo, google, etc, most of them're free, doing it yourself can make search engine more quickly to include your site instead of crawling in internet,it's the key steps for your site to drive traffic.
