Motivation Tip #68
Patience
Patience is a virtue. Sure, that’s easy for you to say while you are waiting for a plane to take off that is 3 hours late, or a friend you are meeting for lunch that is 30 minutes late or life to happen the way we feel it should according to our personal schedule.
One lesson life is teaching me is the need for patience in all things - from the behavior of my grandchildren to the traffic on the way to the airport. I would like you to look at patience from a few different perspectives.
- Patience is really testing your faith.
- Patience is really testing your resolve.
- Patience is testing your level of trust.
- Patience is testing your level of understanding.
- Patience is testing your degree of acceptance.
Each of us is faced daily with people, circumstances, issues and “life” that gets in our face and says, ‘What are you made of?” Each of us responds differently to these challenges when they appear. Some people cave in, while others strive on. Some get stronger, while others give up. Some people learn while others point their finger elsewhere as the cause of their misfortune. Some people take responsibility for the quality of life while others see themselves as victims. Some people whine while others get on with it.
Which is your reaction when life throws you a curve? Do you have patience with the unfolding of your life and those around you? Do you have patience with your employees? Spouse? Children? Yourself?
Patience can be seen on the faces of people who do not let life’s stressors send them ballistic. These people flow with life: the good, the bad and the ugly. They realize that life is a mix of all of this and lacking patience is to expect life and everything in it to be perfect – all the time.
Well my friends, welcome tothe real world – a world with imperfections, struggle, pain, success, failure, problems, achievements, old age, and anything else either positive or negative you can think of.
