Work on Yourself First (#2) Motivation Tip #2
Work on Yourself First
I have never understood why some people feel the need to ‘fix’ other people. We all need fixing in some way if you ask enough people. Someone, somewhere will have a problem with one of our attitudes, philosophies, behaviors, beliefs, values, and ad infinitum.
The interesting thing I have discovered, is that many of the people who are into ‘fixing’ need some major work themselves. (Isn’t that a judgment? Sure is. I’m just seeing if you are paying attention and learning anything yet!)
Which one(s) of the following statements is/are true? We are all perfect. In the eyes of God, we are all perfect. In the eyes of our mother, we are all perfect. In the eyes of our spouse, we are all perfect. In our own eyes, we are perfect.
My guess is that few of the people in your life have total unconditional love for you. So, does this imply that you need to work on some aspect of your behavior? To improve? Yes and no. You are perfect just the way you are. Life is not about achieving better perfection in the future in the eyes of anyone. It is about growing in acceptance for who you are at any given moment, or time in your life. Yes, you will learn more, become more, and do more. But, these will not make you any better in the eyes of God.
