A Seed

As I was traveling this week I got to thinking about the seeds that are planted into our lives, even on a daily basis. Seeds of encouragement, seeds of love, seeds of wisdom, seeds of knowledge, or how about physical seeds like, someone sows some money into your life, or someone sows their time into your life, or someone sows food or clothes or whatever…seeds are constantly being planted into our lives. See the thing about seeds is, they only know how to do one thing…produce the harvest. Think about it! If you took a pumpkin seed and planted it in the ground, the only thing that seeds KNOWS to do is to produce. But if the seed isn’t planted in the right environment, it CAN’T grow. The seed needs water to produce, it needs sunlight to produce, it needs good soil to produce, it needs things to do what it is meant to do. And without any one of those elements, it may grow a little, it might start growing its roots, but it will never produce the thing which it was meant to produce. So with that in mind I want to look at a scripture. Mark 4:14-15 says, “14 The sower sows the word. 15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.” So what is the Word telling us about seeds that are planted in our life? It says when the word is sown, Satan comes IMMEDIATELY and takes away the word that was sown. So when a word is sown into your life, the enemy comes immediately to try to steal that seed from producing what it was meant to produce. Take healing for example. Say your sick, you have something nasty going on inside your body…what does the Word say? Well Is. 53:5 says by His stripes I’m healed. So you’re sick, and this word (seed) is sown into your life that by His stripes you are healed. The first thing the enemy is going to do is to steal that word from your life by making you feel sicker, by putting thoughts in your mind that God isn’t going to heal you, by telling you you’ve sinned to much, or he’ll just plant something in your mind to get you to doubt and question the word (seed) which was sown into your heart. Sound familiar? It does to me! It happens to me! God will give me a word or someone will preach something that sows something into my heart and time after time, almost without fail, the enemy comes and tries to steal that word from me by getting me questioning and doubting. And the sad thing is, we let him steal it! We let him just come in and make us think things or feel things and all the sudden the word (seed) which was sown (planted) in our hearts, that is meant to produce healing, that is meant to produce prosperity, that is meant to produce faith, that is meant ONLY to PRODUCE, is taken away because we aren’t taking care of the seed. Like I said at the beginning, the seed can’t produce or survive if it isn’t taken care of. It takes water, sunlight, good soil, ect. to make that seeds grow! Its not going to grow just because its planted! I hope you are catching this revelation! When a seed is sown into your life, it is your responsibility to take care of it. If you take care of it, it WILL produce. That seeds purpose is to PRODUCE in your life. I believe this is speaking to a lot of people, because I believe a lot of people try to stand on the word (seed) and believe that God will do what He said He would do, but don’t do anything to help the seed grow, and they wonder why God isn’t standing by His word. Well its not a God problem, it’s a man problem. It’s a lack of water (reading the Bible) on the seed, it’s a lack of sunlight (prayer & worship) on the seed, it’s been sown in bad soil (a heart) that is full of unforgiveness and bitterness where it can’t grow. Brothers and sisters the seed only knows how to do one thing…grow and produce. That’s the power of a seed. That’s why the devil tries to steal it immediately. Because he knows that if you see a little growth, then you’re going to tend to that seed and see it through. Guard those seeds!! Water those seeds!!! Take care of those seeds and watch the produce in your life exceedingly, abundantly and above ALL that you could ask or think! Well I hope that blessed you. I believe it did.
